Community of the Divine Innocence

On 21st September 2007, Archbishop Kevin McDonald issued a statement on the Community of the Divine Innocence following the Observations of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on the writings of Mrs Patricia De Menezes and the Community of the Divine Innocence.

These Observations were communicated to the Archbishop by letter dated 16th July 2007 from the Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Archbishop Angelo Amato, SDB, Titular Archbishop of Sila.

The full text of Archbishop Kevin's Statement and the Observations of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is provided on the Southwark Diocesan Website. The Statement has also been put up on the noticeboard at the back of the Church.

The Archbishop has made it clear that while it is laudable that individuals should come together for the Mass, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Rosary, no faithful Catholic is permitted to meet for any purpose as a group known as "Divine Innocence".
